Acai berry is a very wholesome fruit and tastes nice. It has been a staple food of the Brazilian people since centuries. Just now, this fruit has gained international fame because of its healing properties and has emerged as a super food for day-to-day life. Since its popularity is rising tremendously, doctors are trying to research its anti-cancer potential as well.
Acai berry is generally grown in the Amazon River basins of Brazil. These grape size berries are dark purple in color and contain essential antioxidants.
Free radical molecules are very harmful to health and can be caused by anything, cigarette smoking, pesticides, or even with exercise, thereby, damaging cells and DNA.
There are a number of diseases like the Alzheimer’s disease, Cancer, and Arthritis which are caused due to free radical damage. Nature has provided us with antidotes to the problem of free radicals in the form of fruits and vegetables which act as antioxidants. Antioxidants help to strengthen cells and protect the body from free radicals. The proportion of antioxidant power present in a given food is measured in terms of ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity score).
The acai berry has got the topmost proportion of antioxidants and this is proved by the fact that ORAC score of acai berry is 167. It is far ahead when compared to blueberries which contain 32 and apples which have a score of 14. The risk of cancer and other diseases is on a rise and so it becomes all the more necessary that we increase the intake of foods with high antioxidant content.
A research was done on cell-culture model at The University of Florida which showed that acai berries lead to self-destruction of the human cancer cells. This shows that acai berries will have the same effect on human beings as well. Although it has not been proved yet that acai berries help to fight cancer, the research is surely quite positive.

Liposculpture surgery has taken a new role in the lives of Americans, as every year an estimated 500,000 people seek the benefits of this cosmetic procedure. More commonly known as liposuction, this procedure takes away unwanted fat from various parts of the body. Fat can be removed from the neck, abs, thighs, buttocks, arms, and other areas of the body here fat may be stored up, despite the best intentions and efforts of the patient.
One of the first things a surgeon will mention, and rightly so, is that this is not a simply weight loss method and should absolutely not be used in place of actual exercise and eating a healthy diet. Surgery carries real risk, and this certainly includes cosmetic surgery.
The total number of pounds of body fat that a surgeon can remove is actually much less than you might think. While it depends on the patient and what area is being treated, the overall amount of fat removed typically maxes out around 10 pounds or 5 kilograms. While it is possible to take out more than this, it can cause unwanted complications in the body.
Removing too much fat can increase the well known risk of the body having strange dents or bumps in the skin. (However, note that this can even happen if a “safe” amount of fat was removed.) The care taken in using a proper anesthetic as well as the health of the person coming into the procedure all greatly effect to the safety, or risk, of surgery. One example of how this works is smoking. Doctors are going to tell you that you should not smoke for many weeks or preferably even months before coming in for treatment.
If a patient is careful to observe all their doctor recommendations before going in for surgery, they are more likely to reap the benefits than others. The biggest benefit, of course, is shedding those unwanted pounds of fat! Beyond this though, body contouring can go along way in improving the appearance of the legs, waist, and so on. Additionally, liposculpture can also help remove cellulite.
While liposculpture is about as close as you can get to instant gratification when it comes to losing weight, the effects actually do take some time to come around. For months afterward, the patient will likely experience swelling in the treated area. In due course though, the body will settle itself out and you will have gotten the results you wanted! Also keep in mind that while some side effects takes month to go away, you will be back on your feet ready for work or school usually in just 3-10 days after having surgery.

Lets face it, for years people were led to believe that petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly, was the best moisturizer for face creams. The sad thing is however, its a terrible choice because it doesnt penetrate the skin at all. Secondly; it leaves your skin feeling greasy and whats even worse, it more often than not causes further problems due to the fact that it clogs your pores.
One of the most important things to remember is, if youre searching for the best facial moisturizer, its absolutely essential that you avoid any product containing synthetic chemicals, whether you have sensitive skin or not. The reason for this being, these ingredients more often than not tend to irritate your skin. In some case, allergic reaction can also occur even though there may not be any visible signs.
Because of the way in which skin reacts to these irritants, a certain amount of damage is virtually inevitable as you skin tries to expel the toxins. Additionally, its also been established that the resultant damage caused is largely to blame for the premature aging of skin.
Undeniably, the best facial moisturizer in the world, are those which contain no harmful ingredients. In other words, they are free of toxins, allergens, and synthetic chemicals. Ideally, the best moisturizer for face treatments is the ones containing only natural ingredients, together with antioxidants and natural anti-inflammatory properties.
The best facial moisturizer products contain nothing but natural ingredients which nourish your skin and give it the nutrition it needs to stay healthy and youthful. In young people who are healthy, the outer layer of the skin is entirely replaced about once a month. However, the pace of cell replacement slows as we get older and our skin has a harder time retaining its natural moisture.
In the not too distant past, Glycerin was considered the best facial moisturizer around and was able to increase the moisture in skin by 5%. Thanks to all the relentless research which has been carried out over the years, this is not longer the only option we have.
In fact, thanks to a protein called Functional Keratin which was discovered by a New Zealand based company, we can now increase moisture levels by as much as 20% with a single use. Not only is this product natural and safe to use, but it also offers a range of other benefits as well, over and above its exceptional moisturizing qualities
Unlike most moisturizers, functional keratin produces a long lasting effect on your skin. Even after 24 hours, the skin still has moisture levels which are 20% higher than before using the product. Regular use of functional keratin helps your skin to retain moisture, increasing average moisture levels by 11%.
Functional keratin is the best moisturizer for face and body creams since it helps your skin by helping it to carry out its natural function of cellular replacement. In as few as three days, this product increases the speed of this process by as much as 160%. While you could spend a lot of time looking for the best facial moisturizer, once you find this product, you’ll want to stick with it and enjoy the soft, smooth youthful skin it gives you.

There are numerous great benefits to acupuncture and if you are currently having sessions, you are probably very excited about the results. One side effect of the treatments that might not have you feeling positive, though, might be the fact that the treatment may leave you with some bruising. There are quite a few patients of acupuncture who complain about localized bruising after they have been to their acupuncturist appointment, and when you are trying to determine how your treatment is effecting you, these bruises might be somewhat troublesome. Take a moment to evaluate what the acupuncture treatment is doing to you and why it might be the cause for your bruising easily.
To begin with, acupuncture is a variety of a traditional Chinese medical treatment that has been growing in favor in the West over the last few years. Acupuncture relies on the theory that there are lines of energy that flow all throughout the body, and when these energy lines are broken, the result can be any number of ills, including depression, or gastrointestinal problems or even conditions of high cholesterol levels and heart disease. Very thin needles are inserted into the body at various intersecting energy lines during the treatment sessions. Although the treatments are generally not painful, there can be a very unique tingling sensation that is quite unusual for someone who has never had acupuncture treatments like this before.
Acupuncture treatment has become so readily accepted that there several insurance carriers that will now cover the treatments, and as a result more people are trying it and finding that it can provide some amazing benefits to them. If you someone who has tried it for the first time, you may find that you may have been left with a collection of minor bruises at the sites where the needles were employed. The bruises are normally not painful, so some people are quite surprised discover several dark bruises on their body when they’ve undressed to take their shower.
Bruising is somewhat likely to occur due to the very nature of acupuncture. As each needle is inserted by your acupuncturist, your skin is being damaged. If you normally bruise when you are getting a shot, it is duet to the fact that there are small blood vessels being broken, and that can very easily result in a bruise. The trauma to the skin can cause minor bruising, but the bruises shouldn’t last long, and you should not worry that something has gone wrong with your treatment.
On the other hand, what about making sure that you can wear your favorite swimsuit to the beach? This is where a uniquely formulated, natural remedy like the Bruises Be Banned daily treatment program can be beneficial for you. If you are trying to find an answer to how you can overcome your easy bruising, Bruises Be Banned can help you reduce bruising or prevent bruising altogether.

Even the most careful skiers can have accidents on the slopes. Sometimes there is just nothing that a person can do to avoid hitting a rough patch or taking a tumble over something that was hidden from view. How you treat these skiing injuries is important. Even the mildest sprain can turn into something more serious when it is not taken care of properly. Here are a few of the most common skiing injuries and the recommended treatments for them.
Sprained Knees
Even the strongest knees can get sprained or strained on the ski slopes. There are several different ways in which a knee can get strained or sprained so if you hurt your knee while you are skiing, you want to make sure that an experienced medical professional thoroughly examines your knee. You need to know exactly which ligaments have been sprained or strained and how the injury occurred. If a doctor does not find out exactly how your knee has been injured then you could end up doing more harm than good when you try to treat it. Typically the treatment for a sprained or strained knee is an over the counter anti-inflammatory medicine and the application of ice to the injured area. Ask your doctor before you attempt to treat yourself otherwise you could end up injuring yourself even further.
Broken Wrists and Legs
As with knee strains and sprains, broken bones can happen to even the most experienced skier. Legs and writes are the most common bones that get broken on the ski slopes. Broken bones are not to be treated without medical help. Seek a doctor’s help immediately to get your broken leg or broken wrist re-set and casted. To ensure that you have the smoothest healing period possible it is important that you make sure that your broken bone gets treated quickly and correctly by a professional.
Facial Injuries
People who are unfamiliar with skiing believe that the various masks and goggles a skier wears are quite capable of protecting the skier from any sort of injury to the face or skull. These same people are very surprised to learn just how common injuries to the face are and that most of these facial injuries happen by the skier making facial contact with the t-bar! If you receive a blow to the face or skull make sure that you immediately get checked out by a medical professional to make sure that you have not broken any bones and that you do not have a concussion.
These are just three of the most common types of injuries that a person can obtain while skiing the slopes. There are plenty of other ways to get injured while you are out there this winter, so be careful and always err on the side of caution!

There’s little in this world as visible as your face. It’s no wonder people spend so much time concerned with how they look. Your face is, after all, the first and last thing most people will ever know about you. So it’s not just vanity when you are concerned with skin conditions like acne. If you have problems with acne it can affect you both mentally and physically. Finding useful skin care can become an extremely pressing issue.
It’s an age-old myth that your diet contributes to your acne. People will say to avoid fatty foods, grease, chocolate, and even certain sugars. But the truth is that none of these things have anything to do with an acne problem. Acne is caused by an overabundance of natural skin bacteria called Propionbacterium acnes.
This normally benign bacterium hangs out in the hair follicles. When too much of it accumulates it attracts white blood cells. These secrete enzymes that damage the walls of the follicle and the bacteria enter the dermis layer of your skin.
This causes inflammation, which results in pimples. So unless your diet is somehow causing a hormone imbalance, it’s not affecting your acne condition in the slightest.
So how can you treat it? There are some common ways to help your condition, and many people will be successful just using them. The first is to use an astringent skin cleanser on your face at least twice a day, followed by a moisturizer. It may seem counterproductive to moisturize, but this will prevent your skin from drying out and leading to other issues.
Washing your skin regularly won’t necessarily eliminate acne, but it will cut down on the bacteria levels. The goal is to open your pores, cut the bacteria levels, and keep your skin healthy.
For many people, washing alone will not cure your acne woes. There is the traditional route of lotions and creams that claim they will eliminate your acne. Many of these are anti-bacterial and will dry your skin out severely. Others combine over-the-counter medications with a moisturizing cream. Products like ProActive can get much better results than the older type of acne medications.
If you have a severe acne condition, you may need to see a dermatologist for prescription-strength products. These can span the range from highly powerful soaps to low-dose antibiotics to try and regulate the bacteria level. These products often have mild side-effects, and should really only be used as a measure of last resort.
As hard as it may be to accept, a little acne is part of most people’s lives. Going overboard to treat it may lead to longer-term problems with your skin. For more great tips on caring for yourself, please feel free to stop by wordsbuzz.com.

Back acne, otherwise known as bacne, spreads in an area that is commonly neglected, or overlooked, because we are not able to see our backs. During the summer months, problem areas on our backs become noticeable when we shed layers of clothing and don backless outfits.
If back acne is a concern of yours, there are a couple beauty products to include in your routine that will quickly clear any problems up. Here are those products and some tips for using them.
Mark The Body Squad Bacne Acne Treatment
This product by mark has two percent salicylic acid, double the amount found in most body wash and acne products. The treatment comes in a spray bottle making self application easier, even possible when the bottle is held upside down. When I first bought the bottle I thought it was on the small size, and immediately thought twice about my purchase, but because it is a spray it lasts longer than rub on treatments and goes a long way.
Overall, Bacne Acne Treatment performed better than any of the products I tried. When used religiously, applying after every shower, breakouts were totally avoided. After discontinuing use, and not using a body wash with salicylic acid in it on the back, back acne reappeared. Washing the area and applying Bacne Acne cleared up the area in forty two hours.
Bacne Acne when sprayed, does not leave a residue behind on your skin, it never felt sticky or oily. I also liked the light smell the spray left behind. When first sprayed it does have a light medicinal smell, but that quickly disappears and is replaced with a clean citrus scent.
Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash
Neutrogena Body Wash also contains two percent salicylic acid to combat body acne. The product is a body wash, so it is meant to be used while washing instead of after washing like Bacne Acne. For persistent back acne conditions use the wash daily. It is best to pour the wash directly onto a loofah or other scrub and create a lather, then scrub trouble areas.
When used consistently, Neutrogena Body Clear kept large flare ups from occurring and cleared up existing breakouts regularly, and certainly better than other washes. If use was discontinued for more than a couple days, the results were not lasting.
This body wash does have a very medicinal feel and scent when using. Skin did feel very clean after use, and you experience a tingling sensation during and after use. The medicinal smell that is left on you is hard to remove, and while it is not an overpowering scent it is noticeable. I scrubbed lightly with a second, scented body wash after using the medicated wash and did not experience any breakouts as a result.

Recently, the linguists started recognizing a new term to indicate a well-groomed man: The Metrosexual.
Although historically many a “man’s man” has shied away from good grooming out of fear of being viewed as “too fancy” or -let’s face- from just plain laziness, it’s never been easier or more socially acceptable to take care of yourself with good grooming.
Men who look good tend to feel better, have more self-image, and others answer more actually to them. If you want a lift in making sales, getting dates, or just feeling better, consider stepping up your self-care routine. Why not? Just don’t go mad shaving your eyebrows and there’s not much that may go wrong.
For many men, it doesn’t take much to look their best. A good hair cut and a good shave goes a long way. The occasional extras – like nose and ear hair trimming, eyebrow pruning, and skin moisturizing – are great extra steps that you can address as needed. Although you might not have ever considered going into one of those “salons” with all the smelly chemicals and gorgeous women, more and more men are comfortable getting their grooming needs taken care of (even MANicures) at such establishments. Plus – there are lots of beautiful women there, so you can enjoy the view while you’re at it.
The largest part of your grooming routine that you will be desiring to look after at home is shaving. Most men like to shave every day, but some men like the look of a little “stubble” and you can actually get special men’s shavers that leave a little grizzle on your jaw so you can have an infinite day-old beard. What’s repulsive is lots of hair on your neck and throat, so take care that you trim those areas continually as part of your shaving routine.
If you like a close shave, you may never get closer than with a razor, but many men favor the comfort of a shaver, like Norelco’s mens shaver. The norelco shaver has 3 heads that painlessly cut your hair – they can get shot long scraggly hairs as well as your beard from yesterday. The cordless norelco is easy to use at work or in the vehicle and you don’t need to use shaving cream to get the task finished. When your done, you can just rinse the whole thing in the sink. It is a shave, except for many men the comfort compensate for that nicely.
As far as eyebrow maintenance goes – were you know that girls basically TRIM their eyebrows with tiny scissors? You can do it, too! Although eyebrow shaping is best left to the professionals (you don’t want to mess up something that notable on your face), you can trim back the crazy “owl eyebrows” so they don’t look like they need mustache wax to hold their shape. You can also use tweezers to lose undesired hairs – particularly the hairs over the bridge of your nose that make a “unibrow” look. Now, the first time you tweeze out any eyebrow hair – it’ll sting like the dickens. Your eyes may even water – but you will not cry because you’re a man! Just think – “If my other half can do this, so can I!” Your eyebrows are so close to your eyes that they’re seen each day and are a vital part of your facial expression, so take care they look good!
Finally – nose and ear hair. When unsure, less is more. The hairs should stay Within your nose and ears. If hair is growing out your nostrils, or down your earlobes, shed it. There’s a norelco nose and ear hair trimmer that will do the job nicely.
Although it may not be something your Father ever passed on to you, good grooming is a component of dressing for success. Just like a good shave, a pressed shirt, and polished shoes – taking care of your skin, your hair, and your hairs is all part of good grooming. Use these tips to freshen up your appearance and you can spot the difference the next time you are head to head with someone important.
