A diet plan to get rid of tummy fat that works!
So you’ve been eating up on the junk food lately, have you? Perhaps you haven’t been able to take off those extra pounds you put on for Christmas? Well, you aren’t alone. Around 25% of all men are on a diet at any given time, and those numbers are probably higher for women. No less than 40 billion dollars is spent on diet plans to get rid of tummy fat, and other diet products, each year. As I said, you are not alone. What you might be if you diet the right way is one of the very few that actually get the results they want, and are able to maintain those results over time.
Actually, the word diet should be excluded from the “lose weight” dictionary. Dieting for a specific period of time and losing a lot of weight is very seldom a workable prospect for the amateur. Yes, athletes do it all the time, but they often get the help of nutritionists, not to forget the fact that athletes often are know for their strength of will.
No, what we normal people need to do to lose weight, and keep it off, is to change our lifestyle. Junk food simply must take a back seat to healthy food, like lean meat, vegetable, and fruit. It simply doesn’t make sense to go on a diet for 4 weeks without changing what you eat beforehand. When you quit your diet, guess what happens? You start to eat the same old unhealthy, calorie-bombs that you ate before you began the diet!
What you need to do first is figure out how many calories you burn each day by just being alive (BMR) + physical activity, and then adopting a diet that has the required calories to keep you at maintenance levels. Remember, you only lose weight if you eat fewer calories than you expend. Do this by eating healthy foods, and keep doing this for 2-3 weeks. When the 3 weeks are up, adjust your calorie consumption downwards so that you get a calorie deficit. When you do it this way you it will be a lot easier to keep the tummy fat off when your diet is over, because you are used to eating the right types of food.
