Allergy Relief: Your Guide to Natural Relief
An allergy is a condition in which the body tends to react due to hypersensitivity to some substance such as food, drugs, drinks, pollution, flowers, and others. An allergen could be anything under the sun that might cause a reaction in one’s body if the body disagrees with that substance and even a common thing such as sunlight and air might cause severe reactions in some if the skin is susceptible to allergies due to the same.
Some of the most common allergies are caused by food which can be very serious; probably the most notorious of these foodstuffs is nuts, especially peanuts. Although dairy products, including milk, can also be a problem but so can soy products, rice, corn and certain processed foodstuffs.
The problem with allergies that are based of food is they can affect a number of vital body functions like breathing, immunity to disease and the ability to process food. You will often find that people with an allergy to a particular food will continue to eat as they enjoy the taste, knowing the risk they are taking and one group of foods that this relates to is seafood of all types.
Food allergies often cause reactions which are seen initially as redness, itchy areas of skin and other irritations often quite common to the family of citrus fruits. A peanut allergy can also be very severe and it might even result in death by just contact with a peanut so an allergy test would prove to be very helpful in case of peanuts and even other nuts for that matter as they are most deadly of all allergies.
Although flowers are beautiful, even these can prove harmful to those individuals susceptible to their pollen, causing respiratory problems and even damage to the airways. Of course this situation can be quickly rectified by placing the flowers elsewhere but until an allergy test is performed, there is no guarantee that the flowers are to blame.
Certain drugs might cause adverse reactions in the patient resulting in complications resulting in irritation, swelling of face and body, breaking out into hives etc. Sulfur is used in most of the drugs that causes adverse reactions in people and the physician must observe quickly if the patient is allergic to any of the drugs before administering the same.
Although a reaction to nickel is not unusual to most people, a very small number of individuals even have an allergic skin reaction to silver and gold. Individuals reacting to metals are liable to break into hives or the skin starts itching along with swelling in that area, turning red or purple in the area coming in contact with the metal is another common reaction.
The same piece of advice applies to all allergies; stay away from them and in the case of food, do not eat something that cause you a problem as allergies can be serious enough to kill.
