Ergonomics & Posture – The Key To Low Back Tension Relief
If you happen to look at a large majority of people sitting on chairs, you are going to see that they are either slouching, lounging or just leaning back, relaxing in a manner which does no good to their spinal cord.
There are many meditations and special things that you can do to help relieve pain. However, most of these different things you can do, will do absolutely nothing to help your posture , spinal cord, back, neck, or your stomach. Where the pain usually starts is from someone having a bad posture and putting strain on the spine, and the only way to correct it, is to correct your posture.
Most people have a problem with focusing on anything else other than work when its in between 9 to 5. What happens is that most people get so wrapped up in their work that they stop paying attention to their posture while sitting in front of that computer all day. This will lead to a tremendous amount of back and neck pain making it hard to focus on anything.
What happens to most people is that they find themselves sitting behind a desk all day, and with out exercise the muscles in their body doesn’t have the strength to give good posture. The best way to combat this problem that millions of people have is by taking a step back and looking at the ergonomics and the proper way to sit in a chair.
Forget about those deep cushioned chairs which make you sink down and do nothing to your spinal cord. Your chair seat needs to be tilted a bit forward, so that the lower back is curved naturally and falls into place the moment you sit down. The front has to be a bit lower than the back portion of your chair seat.
Laying back in a chair and kicking you’re feet up, can also be bad for posture, as you will be putting a lot of strain your tailbone by doing this. Keeping your feet on the ground, and on a solid surface will allow them to support your body in a way to correct your posture.
People tend to change their posture for specific occasions but as soon as that occasion has past they go back to slouching and hurting their body. This can be found in many cases in an interview, because most people trying to get a job know that interviewers pay attention to that.
Office jobs are the worse for these things because you do not realize that if you computer isnt eye level then you are putting strain on your body. Having a computer screen that is set up above, or below eye level will cause you to have to look up or down for long periods of time. Doing this puts strain on your spinal cord and causes you to have a tremendous amount of back pain because of it. So look at how your computer screen is set up and if you are putting strain on yourself doing it, and if you are, adjust it so that its at eye level.
One thing that will help tremendously is getting your body strength to a point in which it will allow you to correct posture. Doing simple exercise around the house or at work to strengthen your neck will help a lot.
Correcting posture is not easy and takes a lot hard work and discipline. You need to make sure that every time you sit down that you are sitting in an upright position so that you are not putting pressure on the tailbone. Once you start doing this you will train you’re body to do it all the time.
