In an Emergency, How Can I Hide a Bruise?

It almost never fails. Even if youre faithfully using your Bruises Be Banned to reduce or prevent bruising, no product is 100% effective 100% of the time. Just when you have a big event to go to, or you are heading out to enjoy the first lovely spring day of the year in shorts and a tank top, you look down and notice that you have a large, blotchy bruise on your arm or your leg. Bruises are one way to get lots of stares and a lot of unwanted questions, but remember that you don’t necessarily need to cover up in jeans and long sleeved shirts. Take some time and raid your cosmetics drawers, because it is completely possible to cover up bruises, even ones that are dark and turning black and blue.

First off, we need to attempt to reduce the bruise’s swelling as much as possible. A washcloth packed with ice will help get this done, or a washcloth soaked in ice water could probably do the same thing. Keep this treatment to less than fifteen minutes or so, or you could find yourself becoming really uncomfortable. This process will help you reduce any noticeable swelling, and if you are really fortunate, it may even cause the bruise to fade a little by breaking up the blood clot just below the skin.

The next thing that you need to do is to consider the colors of the bruise. If you see a lot of blue in the bruise, go for concealer that is a little more yellow than what you are used to. When you select a concealer that works well for you (ideally, you have one that is creamy rather than dry), rub it onto the bruise. Extend the edges of the concealer beyond the edges of the bruise. This will give you a more natural look, rather than just a splotch of something that may look just as obvious as a bruise.

Allow the concealer to dry completely, and check whether or not you need another layer. Depending how thinly you applied the concealer, you could. You might desire to use a setting powder over the concealer. This can be beneficial in keeping the concealer from brushing away or flaking off. This will also help reduce any shine that could cause concern on your bruise. A number 1 brush should be employed to very nicely create this effect.

If you are dealing with smaller bruises, you may want to forgo the concealer and look into eye shadow instead. If you have darker skin, make sure that you are using cosmetics that are intended for your skin tone. For instance, when you are planning to cover up bruises with an angry red or purple tint, consider a matching green eye shadow to cool some of the hot colors down, but if you have bruises that shade more towards blue, consider yellow colors.

There are lots of tips and tricks to hide bruises. Always remember that you should look for a solution to banish bruises entirely, but also keep tips in mind in case of an emergency.
