Sanyo SA 5000 Massage Chair

There is a good selection of massage chairs in the mid tier market. If you don’t want to plunk down the money for a full luxury massage chair, the midrange delivers solid massage therapy and comparable warranties. One midrange model you may want to check out is the SA 5000 massage chairs from Sanyo. Sanyo incorporates many electronic sensors to customize the massage for the individual.

Sanyo is famous for its electronics. It has incorporated a stiffness detection system. The stiffness detection system will monitor both your pulse rate and your perspiration. This is used to determine where stress points and stiffness are residing in your back.

The stiffness detection system uses technology which is the same for lie detection systems. The user must place their bare hand over a mouse-like device. The system then determines where the user has stiff muscles. This information is then fed into the chairs computer and the massage is customized based on these readings.

The remote control has a built-in LCD. The results of this stiffness detection system will display on the remote control. As the massage progresses, points will be eliminated that have been relieved. The massage continues until all points of stiffness are eliminated

To complement the relief of stiffness, Sanyo has incorporated its GK roller technology. This technology is able to emulate the grasping and kneading of a master masseuse. These rollers are especially effective for the neck and shoulders.

A new type of grasping massage has been included in the Sanyo SA 5000 massage chair. This is performed by a new roller technology from Sanyo. The exclusive GK roller technology is great for squeezing the neck and the tops of your shoulders.

Sanyo has program for massage programs into the SA 5000 massage chair. Each program is designed in a different theme in mind. The programs run the entire chair to provide a full body massage.

There are manual massage techniques which include grip, shiatsu, kneading, tapping, kneading and tapping combination, and lower body. You can also select a specific region to target the massage. There are four areas to the massage will then concentrated in the area selected in the massage technique designated.

Sanyo has incorporated and air system in the SA 5000 massage chair. The air system powers air bags located throughout the chair. The airbags delivered deep and penetrating relief and target the feet, calves and the legs. The level of air compression can be either increased or decreased based on your needs.

Sanyo has incorporated its multipoint shiatsu leg and foot massage. This uses specialized nodes which are activated with the air system. These are used to deliver penetrating relief to the feet, calves and legs. A here has been installed in the foot well of the leg rest to promote circulation.

The SA-5000 comes with a remote control an LCD screen. The LCD screen shows the different points of stiffness in the back. A separate control is used for the stiffness detection system. The only drawback with the stiffness detection system is that you must cup your hand over the device during the entire massage.

The SA 5000 comes with a one-year warranty on parts and a three-year warranty on the GK roller mechanism. Sanyo also includes one year of income technician service. You may also extend the warranty had additional cost.

The SA 5000 is a solid contender in the midrange market. It tends to be smaller and may not fit people who are tall. We especially liked the GK roller system and its ability to perform the grasping massage. The stiffness detection sensor seems to perform, but does not have much value in providing massage therapy. The physical shape center, on the other hand, does adjust the massage as you move. These technologies are available in the Sanyo SA 5000 massage chair.
